Tech Corps is recruiting - Make a difference and help students learn about technology

TECH CORPS is currently recruiting tech-savvy tech-savvy professionals who are interested in volunteering in local elementary schools to lead hands-on activities focused on the fundamentals of Computer Science and designed to encourage more students to pursue technology and technology related degrees and career paths
Did you know that JUST 2% of all ACT tested 2010 high school graduates indicated a career interest in Computer Science? The US Dept of Labor predicts if current trends continue, by 2018 the industry will only be able to fill half of its available jobs with candidates holding CS degrees from US universities.
This year, TECH CORPS is working to recruit, train and support more than 100 volunteers who in turn, will reach over 1,000 students in Central and Southwest Ohio!
The Central Ohio Volunteer Orientation Session is on October 7, 2010 - which means we need all volunteers registered before Friday, October 1 - at the latest.
